I’m not soft on fight against corruption – Jonathan on JULY 1, 2012 · in NEWS

1. He should declare his assets and make every political office holder do the same.

2. He should make all accounts of the federation transparent and accessible to all online-realtime.

3. Empower the judiciary and EFCC with more power to investigate and prosecute those who are guilty of corruption. (Look at Ibori's case for God's sake).

4. Reduce the salaries and compensations of all political office holders. (why should our senators earn 3 and 1/2 times what the president of the USA earns? It encourages people to steal and kill to get appointments by force). The salaries of these people should be comparable to what civil servants earn, That's what happens in other developed countries.

5. Sign laws to make bribes, tips and gifts at all levels illegal.

6. He should stop moving around with corrupt friends who are driving us backwards and encouraging him to steal - We know them. (And he should stop congratulating thieves when they leave prison).

7. Extravagant spending should be stopped. From 1 billion Naira budget for feeding to 116 delegates to Brazil (the worlds largest for what?)

8. He must remember that he once did not have shoes and will leave the presidency whether he wants to or not. (Remember late Yar' dua (R.I.P) and Abacha? Better act well while you have the chance).

9. Let him stop paying lip service. We know these corrupt people. We want to see them in prison. How can he be telling us about a "cabal"? Are they bigger than the president and country? Let's copy the Chinese by putting those people in jail. We'll confiscate all their property till we have the value of our stolen money.

10. He should start from his house and stop being greedy. We can do it.
