Does anyone complaining about the Mars mission really think about the cost and benefit? $2.5 Billion - most of which went to Americans in manufacturing and technical roles, and American comapnies, helps push the envelope on our ability to lead the world in technology. On top of that:
- $2.5 billion is only about $10 per citizen
- $2.5 billion represents the cost of only six F-22 fighters.
That would be a lot of money in any person's pocket, but in the scope of Government spending, it is both very tiny and a very good investment.
