Nigerian Senators Earn More Than Barack Obama - See Exact Numbers

A Nigerian senator earns more in Salary than Barack Obama of the US and David Cameron of the UK. I'll leave you to tell how much Nigerian president goes home with at the end of each month. An Indian lawmaker must work for at least 49 years to earn the annual salary of a Nigerian senator.

In the United States, while the minimum wage is $1,257 (N191, 667), a US lawmaker earns $15,080 (N2.3m) per month. In the United Kingdom, a lawmaker earns $8,686(N1.3m) monthly while the gross national minimum wage is $1,883 (N283, 333) per month. Also, Nigerian lawmakers earn higher than their counterparts in Sweden. With a monthly pay of $7,707 (N1.2m), a lawmaker in Sweden will need to work for over 12 years to equal what a Nigerian senator earn per annum.

The president of the United States takes home an anual salary of $400,000 (N64.156,0m), including a $50,000 expense allowance making the president the highest paid public servant in the US. The $400,000 includes everything and $350,000 out of it is taxable.

A senator's anual salary = over N182 million
multiply by 109 senators (don't forget the House of rep, ministers, ambassadors, ...)

In addition to the regular and legitimate salaries and allowances of over N17 million ($113,333) and N14.99 million ($99,933) which senators and reps were collecting yearly and the irregular allowance of estacodes, duty tours etc, they were also collecting over N192m ($1.28m) and N140m ($0.93m) respectively in illicit quarterly allocation which is not provided for by RMAFC.

Effectively, a Nigerian senator is taking home at least $1.40m ($1.28m quarterly allocations + $0.113m regular salaries and allowances) as against the $0.174m an American senator takes home hence a Nigeria senator earns at least 8 times as much as an American senator and more than 3 times the American president.

Whereas a Senator in the U.S earns N21, 146,000, the same as a member of the House of Representatives; a UK Member of Parliament earn £64,766 (N14, 896,180)

In other words, a Federal Legislator in Nigeria is paid more than double what a Member of British Parliament earns per annum.

Senate President David Mark alone takes N250 million quarterly or N83.33 million per month. Senate Deputy President Ike Ekweremadu gets N150 million per quarter or N50 million a month.

Mark and Ekweremadu earns in 4 months, six times what the UK Prime Minister earns in a year. David Cameron goes home with £190,000 per anum (N43, 700,000)

In a newspaper news article entitled ‘An Assembly for looting’ written by Musikilu Mojeed with Elor Nkereuwem, the authors rightly claimed that each of the 360 members of the House of Representatives were getting N35 million in cash money in quarterly allocation while each of the 109 Senators pockets N48 million each. These allocations have however been slashed by 20% to N27 million ($180,000) and N38 million ($253,333) respectively due to the 20% reduction requested by the late president. Still kindly look at the above numbers and the situation round you and make any inference you think is common sense.

Nigerian develops Africa's iPad

Nigerian develops Africa's iPad.....

Nigeria's Saheed Adepoju has unveiled the 'INYE', a tablet computer designed to be Africa's answer to the iPad.

The 29 year old entrepreneur has designed a cheaper alternative to the western tablet computer to appeal to an African audience, which wish to browse the internet on a low cost device.

The key selling point of the 'INYE' is its low price, only $350, half of the price of an iPad, which retails at around $700.

Adepoju also plans to sell his device (which runs on the Android Operating System) to the Nigerian government. At 8 inches, the device is half way in size between a laptop and a mobile phone.

"The INYE is a mobile internet device, it gives you access to the internet, it allows you to play media files and watch movies" Adepoju told the BBC. "You have the standard software applications that come pre-installed and then you have the ones that we are working with various local developers to bundle on"

the INYE is manufactured in Lagos..

RACISTS

The only white people who are afraid of blacks people/racist are those who have skeletons in their closets or those who are lazy/wicked and know that black folks are hungrier/better than them so they will perform better than they ever will.

Hence they resort to racism to cover their weaknesses but they will loose.

White Privilege Hip-hop?

A comment I found one YouTube by  beckster003:

"White privilege: that black people can popularize jazz (Louis Armstrong) and George Gershwin comes in & suddenly he's the best jazz composer
that Little Richard can popularize rick & roll, yet Elvis Presley is considered the "king" (though some of his songs were stolen from black artists)
that black people can create hip-hop & rap, then eminem comes in and all of a sudden he's considered the "greatest" rapper (not)
realize your privilege as a white american. Macklemore definitely knows whats up"

P.S. This is not a race thing, just look around and be sincere. One Love to all, Peace.

Jesus was rich Hmm?

Prosperity Preachers are always quick to say that Jesus was rich. This they claim is evidenced by his having an accountant "Judas Iscariot".

But remember he gave up the kingdom of heaven to live poor on earth. He was born in a stable/manger with animals & what of the quote of a camel through a needle's eye?

The only time Jesus appears to have really become upset was with the money changers. Usury was deemed immoral and illegal, now it has become a primary part of business.

He didn't even have funds for tax on him (i.e. his pockets were empty) He had to tell Peter to go get money from the fishes mouth. Mathew 17: 24-27.

And let us all watch out, who betrayed Christ? "The Accountant". For what; "for 30 pieces of silver". Let us all take heed and watch our ways so we do not miss heaven In Jesus Name; Amen.

"One does not acquire wealth accidentally, unless it is gotten through inheritance etc, it must be sought after." - Someone said on a YouTube comment.

Matthew 6: 24; You cannot serve God and Money at the same time. Put God first; money is necessary but put God first.

NIGERIAN LAWMAKERS ARE THE HIGHEST PAID IN THE WORLD

The U.S.A's economy is 35 times that of Nigeria, but a senator in Nigeria earns 240 million naira (about 1.7 million US dollars) in salaries and allowances and a member of the House of Representatives earns 204 million naira (about 1.45 US dollars) per annum. An American Senator earns 174,000 US dollars while a UK parliamentarian earns about 64,000 US dollars per annum.

Going by the above analysis, a Nigeria Senator earns almost ten times the salary of his US counterpart and more than twenty times the salary of a UK parliamentarian. There are 109 Senators and 360 members of the House of Representatives.

President Barack Obama, earns $400,000 per annum; 1.3 million US dollars less than the salary of a Nigerian senator. The British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron earns just $190,000 a year which is more than 1.5 million US dollars less than a Nigerian senator’s salaries. A Nigerian senator earns 3 and a half times what the President of the worlds biggest economy earns and we have 109 of them. We have not even begun to talk about governors, ministers, special advisers and our dear President.

Our Senate President is on a special monthly salary of 88.33 million naira, while his deputy is on 50 million naira; 1.24 billion naira is paid as quarterly allowances to the 10 principal officers of the Senate, while other principal officers earn 78 million naira every three months.

The situation has gone so bad that more than 70 per cent of national income now goes into paying salaries and allowances of political office holders who form less than one per cent of the Nigerian population.

Apart from the outrageous salaries of the Nigerian lawmakers, billions of dollars are disbursed to the lawmakers by the executive to lobby for approval of bills. Some of the lawmakers are appointed to head some committees; this also brings in more money into the vaults of the lawmakers. In fact, to be a member of the Nigerian National Assembly is a money spinning venture. No wonder, most of the legislators commit all kinds of atrocities including rigging, assassination of their counterparts and wasting the lives of the people to cling to the National Assembly tickets.

And things are not working.

I’m not soft on fight against corruption – Jonathan on JULY 1, 2012 · in NEWS

1. He should declare his assets and make every political office holder do the same.

2. He should make all accounts of the federation transparent and accessible to all online-realtime.

3. Empower the judiciary and EFCC with more power to investigate and prosecute those who are guilty of corruption. (Look at Ibori's case for God's sake).

4. Reduce the salaries and compensations of all political office holders. (why should our senators earn 3 and 1/2 times what the president of the USA earns? It encourages people to steal and kill to get appointments by force). The salaries of these people should be comparable to what civil servants earn, That's what happens in other developed countries.

5. Sign laws to make bribes, tips and gifts at all levels illegal.

6. He should stop moving around with corrupt friends who are driving us backwards and encouraging him to steal - We know them. (And he should stop congratulating thieves when they leave prison).

7. Extravagant spending should be stopped. From 1 billion Naira budget for feeding to 116 delegates to Brazil (the worlds largest for what?)

8. He must remember that he once did not have shoes and will leave the presidency whether he wants to or not. (Remember late Yar' dua (R.I.P) and Abacha? Better act well while you have the chance).

9. Let him stop paying lip service. We know these corrupt people. We want to see them in prison. How can he be telling us about a "cabal"? Are they bigger than the president and country? Let's copy the Chinese by putting those people in jail. We'll confiscate all their property till we have the value of our stolen money.

10. He should start from his house and stop being greedy. We can do it.
